What if I need to cancel?Unfortunately, deposits are non-refundable. Custom cakes involve a number of processes which often take place over days & weeks. Deposits provide a small buffer to cover work already undertaken, ingredients and/or materials purchased, and loss of income as a result of refusing other bookings in order to accommodate yours. In some circumstances I may offer a credit note, partial refund or other arrangement, but this is entirely at my discretion. I understand that life happens and I do my very best to accommodate my clients where possible. Cancellations made 14 days or more from the event date: Deposit is non-refundable. A refund of the remaining balance will take into account total ingredients/materials purchased and labour/resource undertaken up until that point. Cancellations made less than 14 days from the event date: No refund In some instances, cakes can be frozen for later use (up to 2 months). Additional fees may apply e.g. completion/reconstruction of cake, repurchasing fresh flowers & perishable decorations etc.

Do you do fondant cakes? At the moment, no. We work with buttercream and couverture chocolate ganache. We do work with fondant and gum-paste for decorations, but currently don't offer fondant covered cakes.
-
I don't like buttercream, can I have something else?I work with 2 styles of premium buttercream as well as chocolate ganache and also offer Deluxe soft fillings. Classic whipped buttercream - It's a sweeter, classic style buttercream, often used for birthday cakes - Made with butter, icing sugar and cream. Swiss Meringue Buttercream - It's a silky smooth, less sweet style buttercream mostly used for wedding cakes. - Made with butter, white sugar and meringue. Couverture chocolate ganache - Rich and decadent. Sweetness level will depend on the type of chocolate. - Made with fresh cream and either dark, white, milk and caramelised white chocolate.

How should I store my cake?I recommend to store my cakes in the fridge. Depending on the size of the cake, you may need to remove 1 or more shelves from your fridge. Make sure there are no open food items or anything with a strong smell that might permeate the cake. Cakes should be served at room temperature for the best eating experience. Cakes can take 4-8 hours to properly come to room temperature depending on their size. To speed this process up, cut the cake and let the portions sit on a plate for 30 minutes to soften. I recommend any left over cake be wrapped in cling film, placed in an air tight container and stored in the fridge. Bring cake to room temperature before eating. Cakes can be frozen for 2-3 months. Excludes cakes filled with fresh fruit.

Why is wedding cake so expensive?A custom wedding cake is going to cost more than an everyday cake from the grocery store. Firstly, premium ingredients are expensive. Beyond ingredients though, the biggest cost associated with wedding cakes is the time they take to make, assemble and decorate. But you are also paying for the craftmanship of someone dedicating many hours to making your beautiful, one of a kind cake.
